Description

  • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
  • Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
  • Install, configure, and support the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
  • Maintain phone system, video camera system, copy machines, fax machines, printers, etc.
  • Maintain user codes in alarm system
  • Keep company cell phones and tablets updated
  • Monitor WatchGuard reports, security logs, and other computer logs as necessary
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to coordinate computer network access and use
  • Website creation and maintenance
  • Ensure the security and integrity of systems, hardware, and data
  • Ensure data is backed up on- and/or offsite as appropriate
  • Create, test, and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Test backup scenarios to make sure they would work in disaster
  • Test network for security as necessary or obtain an outside vendor to conduct testing
  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support
  • Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
  • May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
  • Make work flow throughout the facilities more productive

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
